  1. Arriving home on Saturday September 9th, 1995 approx 3:15-3:30 a.m.  I
  2. was getting out of my car and as I turned away from the car a Bright
  3. White Light in the sky caught my attention.  It seemed to start in the
  4. east of the nightsky and traveled westwardly with a slight curve.  The
  5. BAND of white light stretched across the Las Vegas Nevada sky ending
  6. in the west end.  It appeared it travel northeast to southwest with a
  7. curve. For those in the Las Vegas Area if you were at Tropicana  &
  8. Mountain Vista Streets it would have come from Sam's Town Area and
  9. ending before the Luxor Pyramid light which is directed straight
  10. upward.   Living in Las Vegas I have seen all kinds of man made lights
  11. and lighting effects....from lasers from hotels to the mountain sides
  12. and have witnesses shooting stars and some of the better comets.  This
  13. light was unlike any ever seen before....It continued to glow with the
  14. same intensity and brightness from beginning to end.  The only color
  15. to describe the whiteness and brightness is to look at a welders
  16. oxy/act. torch when it is burning.   There was no large or larger head
  17. than the tail portion and unlike most laser lights much, much wider
  18. and beginning from a dark area in the sky also ending in a dark area
  19. of the sky.  No pointed tips like a rocket or jet aircraft just this
  20. expanding WHITE BAND OF LIGHT!  The speed was very, very fast. How
  21. fast or to calculate I am unable to do that but Airport traffic does
  22. fly close to this area and comparing a normal Jet Plane or small
  23. aircraft or even a Nellis Jet it was like a Corvette (The white band
  24. of light) to a Volkswagen (Commercial and Services Aircraft).  To
  25. duplicate the way the light appeared and went simply put a paint
  26. graphics program on your computer and with a light pen start on one
  27. side of your screen, proceed across the screen with a gentle curve and
  28. lift the pen. Hit your clear control immediately after drawing the
  29. band. Thats what I saw....have been unable to find anyone who was up
  30. or looking up at the sky at that time and date.  I notified a  local
  31. television station that very morning but no reports were made (Tho the
  32. newscaster gets a lot of LIGHTS reports he realized I was very sincere
  33. about this unusal sighting.   Could It have been the Shuttle?  A test
  34. vehicle from the test site in Nevada........am I the only one who saw
